The book celebrates the life of E. Pauline Johnson and the anniversary of her death. Included with the collection of her most famous work, Flint and Feather, is her story, but also how her poetry came from what was happening in her life at the time. Also included are photos, archival documents and letters that have never been published, showing the real person behind the performer. In this book, Dr. Quirk has selected a goodly number of EPJ’w works and annotated them with her life story as well as information about the work, when it was written and the influences Ms. Johnson had in her life and work.

Perspective – own approach and research; anthologies trying to involved more than just the literature; maps, letters, archival documents. Physical documents behind history.
